How to Remove Tea Stains

Why Tea stains are tricky

Tannin compounds are polyphenolic molecules that bond to fabric through hydrogen bridges and rapidly oxidize on contact with air.

How to prevent Tea stains

Herbal and fruit teas can be just as staining as black tea — the darker the tea, the stronger the tannin. Rinse with cold water immediately. On silk or wool, use pH-neutral soap only.
