Why Mascara stains are tricky

Cosmetic stains consist of pigment particles suspended in an oil or wax binder, sometimes with film-forming polymers from foundations and mascaras.

How to prevent Mascara stains

Waterproof mascara requires an oil-based remover — micellar water is ideal. Non-waterproof mascara responds to dish soap and cold water. Never rub mascara into fabric — use a clean cloth and blot from outside in.
